my last blog

After I studied this course, i think i can get many things. The first thing i can get is knowledge. Because of this subject, i have a chance to see the American culture. It is very interesting. Some culture i do not know before but when i study this subject, i can gain more experience. The second thing is entertainment. Actually, i love to see a movie so the activities in this subject is not difficult to do. In fact, watching movie is very fun.

Another thing is i also think you are not old to teach. you are a good lecturer. you are very very kind to all students, i was very impressed. I think ABAC should have a good lecturer like you. This is also my last semester. After I graduated from ABAC, i will apply for flight attendant as it is my dream since i was young. Anyway, I will miss you and i really sorry that i did not attend the last class so that i missed a chance to take a photo with you. Good Luck Ajarn.

Proud

The movie" Proud" is a drama movie that shows the story of black men during world war 2. I think this movie is very boring. I feel sleepy as they didn't have exciting scene at all. Even though, the detail of movie is good. It is able to let me know about the situation in world war 2 and how black people is important. But the story run too long.

In this movie, Lorenzo is a hero. He helped to save the world but the country ignores him. He tells his grandson about his ship, the USS Mason. the vast majority of black men is a stewards or laboureres. The advanture begins as the men of Mason across to North Atlantic, battle German submarines and survive the " storm of the century". At the same time, the Mason crew have to fight with racism from individual sailors and from within Navy itself. But back to today, history has forgotten USS Mason. But the young men changed this, they help his friend to be award and make everyone remember Uss Mason.

Moreover, this movie is good to see for study the history of American during the Civil Right. But it doesn't good to see for fun since it's boring.

American Me

The movie" American Me" is a drama style movie which show American lifestyle in Civil Right. Some scene of this movie si very boring as they talked too much. Also, there are some scence of this movie that children should not as it is too violence. From this movie, i think life of American boy is lack of quality because they take a drug and do the bad thing. Actually, they should study and be a good children for their parents. Because of bad idol of adult, boys do something violence without gulity.

From the movie, a teen named Santana who form their own gang arrested for a break in. Santana gets into trouble and goes straight from reform school to prison, spending 18 years there. The life in the prison was very bad. They killed each ofter and there are many problem like rated R violence, nudity or profanity. Later, Santana becomes a leader of powerful gang. both inside and outside the prison. Everything become more and more violence so much so that Santana can't out of gang. Finally, he died because the other gang in the prison killed him. He has nothing in life except death and loneliness.

However, there are some moments of extreme violence, so it may not suitable for all people. i think the detail fo this movie is good. It is able to teach people that whatever bad thing you do , th bad thing will soon return to yourself.

Ku Klux Klan

KKK is the name of the fraternal organisation in U.S. These organization have often used terrorism and acts of cross burning to oppress African Americans. They also focused on intimidating "canetbaggers" and scalawags as on putting down the freed slaves. The second KKK has the main purposed to anti- catholicism, anti- communism, and anti-semitism. Its fell during the Great Depression and membership fell in world war 2.

Later, the name" Ku Klux Klan" has used by many different groups including many who opposed the "Civil Right Act". Today, it is estimated that there are up to 8000 members Klan in nationwide. These group are seperated in small local units and considered extreme hate group. The original Ku Klan Klan was created after the end of American Civil War. The Klan controlled the political and social status of the freed slaved. They focus mainly on African American.

The first Klan was never well organized. As a secret group, it had no membership, no newspapers, no spokesmen or no local officer. After that, President Ulysses S. Grant signed Butler's Legislation, the Ku Klux Klan act. However, it took several year for all Klan elements to be destroyed. Nowadays, the group only exists in the form of a number of isolated. Also, in 2006, a Ku Klux Klan group led an anti- migration march in Alabama. However, ACLU provided the legal support to the factions of KKK for their right to hold public rallies

Song " Don't khow why"

The song that i like most is Don't khow why from Norah Jones which is in the period of early Jazz. I also don't know why i like this song but when i heard it i feel very relax as the voice of Norah Jones is very smooth. I think is is a very good song. It's sound classic. Moreover, I like this sentence " My heart is drenched in wine. But you'll will be on mind forever". As it seen lonely but still romantic. even though, I'm not a big fan of Norah Jones but i like her singing style. It is very outstanding. She is a skillful singer. when i'm driving my car, I will have a good mood everytime when i heard her song, especially " Don't know why". Someone may say that her song is asleep. But for me, her song is very excellent.

Windtalkers

The movie"windtalkers" is a good movie that show American history in world war 2. I like this movie as it can make me enjoy. american are brave. Even though, white men did not like indian but when the enemy come, they are unity. They help each other, it make me very impressed. Also,american are wise. they use the indian code in war which was very amazing. No one can know the meaning of code so that Amerircan gained more advantage than Japanese. Moreovr, American are generosity. Although, they fight with japanese but when they met with japanese children, they help and give a medical if children hurted.

From this movie, Bez, indian who has duty as code talkers in war. He used Navajo language which the enemy did not know the meaning. Ox is also getting the new task to protect the Navajo codetalkers. As U.S government found that Navajo language can use as impossible to crack secret code. At first Bez and Ox seem not to get on well as Ox is not open mind. But Bez try to understand and has a good point of view to him. he has a clarify mind. when the enemy come, american can win because of codetalkers. It can help American a lot to destroy japan enemy. In the serious situation, Chales was catched by enemy in order to get the secret code. when Ox saw, he has to bomb both Chales and Japanese enemy as he has to protect the country. At first, Bez did not understand why Ox has to do but later he understand and become his best friend. However, American lost many people in this war but it is fortunately that the war is over.

In addition, i like their way to fight with Japan. it is very smart. This movie can help watchers to love their own country. it is a very good movie that teach us to help each other. Also, be nice with people from different culture and look people from their mind because that people could be our best friend in the future.

Crash Dive

The movie"Crash Dive" is the movie that can show aspect of American culture in world war 2. Even though, they may have some conflict but when they fight with enemy, they are unity. Also, i think American guys are romantic. In this movie, i like very much when Ward try to make Hewlett love him. If someone does this to me i would very happy.

From this movie, Ward who is an executive officer of the submarine spends his off duty time to meet with Hewlitt in New London. At first, he didn't know that Hewlitt is Conn's girlfriend. He fall in love and want to married with her. But in the world war period, country should come first. No matter how much he love Hewlett, he has to take a risk and fight with enemy. Conn has an excellent skill of fighting. He plans well organized. however, he can't do this without helping of Ward. He and Ward are the best friend. When Conn discovered that Ward and Hewlitt are love each other, there is tension between two men in secret mission. Ward offers to lend ashore and destroy the base . He accomplish the mission but Conn hurted from the explosion when he investigated. Finally, America win the war and Conn and Ward seem understand each other.

Nevertheless, I think this movie make me knows that the end of the war could be the beginning of life. They will have more time for love and thier family.

Seabiscuit

Seabiscuit is the drama movie which can show the lifestyle of American. Even though, car becomes very popular in transportation, horse still play an important role for American. I think hourse riding is a good sport. This movie make me know that not only we ride horse but also we have to understand what it wants and be a good team work with it. I was enjoy when i saw this movie as this movie was not too old and also we know the way of living between poor and rich people.

Red, the boy who was left by his parent, has to do everything in order to survive. He lives as he believe in himself that he has a talent. At the same time, Carl, a rich man, lost his son and divorced with his wife. He started his new life with young attractive women. He hired Red to ride a horse in the horse riding contest. Seabiscuit is a small horse that Red rides in competition. At first, everyone laughed at him because seabiscuit is too small and they think that there is no way to win for seabiscuit. But red proved that it is no true. Red and Seabiscuit can win in handicap. I was impressed with Red's attempt. Although, his eye is blind on side or he has anaccident, he never stop practising. He try to achieve his goal. Finally, seabiscuit can with all horses.

However, this movie is a good movie that can teach me to do what i like. Also, it shows that American are bravely. They introduced horse riding to become famous. They can show us that horse is not just an animal but horse could be a best friend of life.

Birth of the blues

Birth of the blues is a musical movie that can show the musical style of American. This movie can make me to know about the old song. I think it is very unique. Singers can sing a song without preparation in advance. They can tell their feeling by using song as a medium. That was very fansinating. Also, I have a chance to know mor about the musical band of American. They are unity. I think they have a good team work. They can mix all instument perfectly.

In this movie, I feel a little bit boring as it is black and white. Jeff grows up near Basin street in New Orelens, playing hes calrmet with the dock worker. He puts together band, the Basin street hot shots. At first, people didn't accept their musical style since they are old fashion and they thind that Jeff music is darkie. But when Betty join their band as a singer, people has changed their mind. They love it. The blue music is very famous. Even though, the band have to faced with serious problem. But they can solve it as Jeff is very smart. He has s good idea about how to solve and how to escape. I like it.

However, this movie would be better if it is not black and white. I think Birth of the blues can clearly show the uniqueness of American music. It is very useful to study about American culture from this movie.

White christmas

The movie " White Christmas" is a song movie which is very old. The story is about a broadway entertainer, Bob and Davis. They try to show their performance when major general arrive at the end of the show. During on enemy artilley barrage, Davis saves Wallace's life. After that, they make a big performance in nightclub and broadway. They become the most popular at that time.

After 2 years on broadway, they have ashow in florida and recieved a letter from Flackke Faced Hayres in order to audition two girls. But one of girl named Betty reveal that Judy sent the letter. So, Bob and Phill help them to escape their landlord. They pretend to show as two sisters in order to help two girls to the train. When they arrived the train, they want to travel with girls at Vermont. But they discover that Vermont is lack of snow and patrons. So, they want to bring business in as a lodge. Because of this, they have a fansinating broadway. When Bob want ot make a pitch on the snow. He wishes to get as many people from his division to Pine tree for snow on Christmas Eve. The misunderstanding make Betty have to leave for a job as Phil and Judy fake their engagement in order to make Betty and Bob closer together. Then, all of this get right, Bob and Betty fall in love as Phil and Judy do.

In my opion, I think this movie is a little bit boring as i don't like song movie. I feel very sleepy when i saw it. On the other hand, i like the way they dance because i think it's very fansinating. I like a scene that boys pretend to show as girls i think it's very funny.

Magnificent Seven

This movie is another movie that can show lifestyles of american in western period. When Bannits rob a small village, the village leader hire protector in order to protect their villagers. At first, there was only one cowboy protector but later he hires another five prople so that there are magnificent seven. The seven help to make the village stronge by training the men to use guns or whatever they can find to against the Bandits. In my opinion, I like this scene because the way seven teach can protect villagers from danger. The villagers can make bandits return at the first fighting. But when the bandit come back again for the last fighting, three of magnificent died. Even though, maginificent seven win but then have to lose their friend.

From the movie, I like when the cowboy use the gun. I think it is very uniqueness. Also, I think americans are brave and like to help other people. They are willingness to help even whatever is happened to them. Moreover, I like when one of magnificent seven shoot an army from far distance. It was a great shoot.

On the other hand, some scene of this movie make me feel sleepy like when a scene that young cowboy fall in love with women. But overall story is ok. I think it does not boring at all.

Arrowhead

When I saw this movie, I feel sleepy as there are too much conversation. Also, the action scene is not exciting. But I think this movie can clearly show the lifestyles of American people in western period. I observed that, every americans are brave and love freedom. Especially, I like their uniqueness. Whoever are indians, we can observe them easily from thier get dress as indians love thier culture.

In this movie, Bannon is very hate apaches. He and his friend are cavalry commander, after his superior is killed by apache. He is fired as chief of scouts after killing three indians scouts. After this, the colonel is killed. Bannon hang around and helps the cavalry drive off the attack, even though nearly trooper hates him. But Bannon can make everyone believe that indeans leave the reservation under Toriano's leadership. Even though, the US army is trying to talk peace with the apache and move them to Florida but everything was useless. Toriano still motivate indians to fight with whites. At the end, Bannon force Toriano to be his blood brother. Then, he flight with Toriano bravelly on the hill. I like the way they do as it was fare for everyone. No one will die . It is the best way to challenge that who will win. I think only true man can do this. But again, th action scene was not good and Toriano is died too easily.

The missing

The missing is a western movie style which shows the lifestyles of American. In the past, horse means everything for transportation because there is no car or train to travel. Also, the movie show that it's not only a good indian exist, but also there are bad indian. They use the magic to make people hurt. I was so excited but i was hate them at the same time.

In the story, Meggie serves as the local doctor. She has two daughters. Actually, she has a boyfriend but she like to keep her relationship as a secret. One day, a white man who dresses like indian come to her for medical attention. She was surprised because he is her father. But she isn't receptive of him being there as he left her mother to fend for herself. After that, Meggie's boyfriend was killed. Her oldest daughter was kidnapped by bad indian in order to sell into sex slavery down in Mexico. Because of this, Meggie want her father help her to find Lily( her daughter). She is very brave. I was very impressed her that she does everything to getting her daughter back. Even though, she was hurt by bad magic but she still fight.

Moreover, I like this movie because the action scene is exciting. But i was a little bit upset with ending as Meggie's father was died. I think he should alive and stay with family. I was apprecitate that he love his family more than his life. Although, he was died, he can help Lily back.

This movie is a good movie. At first i think it's boring but when I saw it, my feeling has changed, it was excellent movie. I very enjoyed with it. Also, I think it would have been much better had it not run so long.

Moby Dick

Ishamel want to travel to the sea. He auunounces his intent ot ship aboard a whiling vessel. He stays in a whaler's inn. Since the inn is full, he has to share a bed with Queequeq. At first he afraid of Queeqeq's strange habit, but he eventually come to appreciate his generosity and kind spirit, and they decide to seek work on a whaling vessel together. They take ferry with men from many different countries and races. Also, this ship was control by Ahab, a captain who is still covering from losing his leg in an encounter with a whale. He announces his desire to kill Moby Dick, the great white whale who took his leg. During a trip, Ahab met captain Boomer, who has lost an arm in an encounter with Moby Dick. So, it make Ahab want to know the information and kill Moby dick more.

However, Starbuck did not agree with Ahab. He think that this could be made everyone come to the end of life. He tries to warn Ahab many times but he didn''t listen. Ahab still want ot kill Moby Dick. He did everything like a mad person. so, Starbuck want to kill Ahab after the storm ends. But he can't do it as he has a strong relationship with Ahab.

Ahab expects to find the great whale and he fenally sight Moby Dick. It attacks Ahab's boat, destroying it. Ahab is then caught in a harpoonline and hurlted out of his boat to his death. Everyone tries to kell it but they all died. Ishamael is the only on e who can survive from this fighting. Also , Moby Dick can escape from this danger situation.

Red badge of courage

The movie Red Badge of courage is written by Stephen Crane. The movie is about the civil war which has Henry (Audie Murphy) act as a main character. He joined in the military coup. He also worried about his courage. He fears to see battle as Jim spreads a rumor that army will come. After that soldiers spend many days on foot to approach a battlefield. He was fear but he could not run even if he want to. When enemy come, he tries to escape from line and across the land. He think that he was right as he has to protect his own life. After a time, he joined with hurted soldiers. He feel jealous of these soldiers as the wound is like " a red badge of courage". Also, he meets Jim(John Dierkes) who has a badly wound. Henry promises to protect him but he runs from the line and died in the field.

When the fighting come, he still wander until he finds himself close to battlefield. One of men hits him on the head with gun. Fortunately, Wilson(Bill Mauldin) save him and care for him tenderly. The next day, Henry thind about Jim and fight with enemy bravely. His lieutenant is very pround of Henry. Even officer think that soldiers was weak but they prove that the officer think was wrong and they fight llike a mud diggers. As a result, Henry was the best fighter in military.

However, he continues to carry the flag and fight bravely. The enemy was lose in a battlefield. This war could made Henry think that he ashamed of his behavior the previous days. He is now able to look forward to peace and feeling a quiet within himself.

Pathfinder

The story Pathfinder is about the man who was in war between British and France. The movie is romantic and adventure. Pathfinder is a hero in the story. His characteristic is very unique and outstanding.

From the movie, there are many things that i like. First, Pathfinder is very brave. He never afraid to do a good thing. Even if he might go into trouble, he will try to help other people like when he trys to protect lady. Second, he is scarified. He like to help people. He is willingness to take risk in order to save people life. Another thing is Pathfinder has a skillful. He has a good skill of fighting. He is never lose or give up to enemy. Also, he love freedom. No matter he was upset about love but he still love free and go to the way that he likes.

Moreover, i like the British woman style since she is calm and friendly. she is always smile to everyone and show a good manner. Also, i like the code that Pathfinder used. i think it is a great idea to communicate in danger situation. To doing this, enemy will do not know what he was going to do so, it can be great advantage.

However, this movie is a good movie that help me know the lifestyle of ancient people. it is also show the history that was very interesting. I think this movie is worthwhile to see.
